Installing laminate flooring isn’t two bad if you have two people.
What you’ll need:
- laminate flooring (such as Harmonics from Costco)
- underlayment (unless the laminate has it attached)
- a laminate cutter and a jig saw (it makes cutting faster)
- knee pads
- a door jamb saw
- a hammer
- a flooring toolkit

Quick Tips
- Acclimate the flooring according to the instructions. It will need to get used to the humidity in the room.
- Cut the flooring into thirds so that you don’t have the seams together – always stagger seams when you are laying the flooring. See this video.
- Use a door jamb saw to get under the door jambs see this video
- Leave a 1/4″ of space all around to allow for expansion and contraction in different seasons. You can always use molding around the edges.
- Lay the flooring. See video.
